Blue Whale Study aims each year to mentor and train four lucky students from south west Victoria during the February to May.
The marine science mentoriing program has been running for a few years however it is subject to funding. Currently the program is on hold until further funding becomes available. The program provides an opportunity for selected students to be trained in the basics of seamanship, the marine working environment and scientific research methods including observation, photo-ID and database management. Participants have the opportunity to take part in small boat surveys, as a part of the Blue Whale Study’s monitoring and research program.
If you would like to support this worthwhile program please contact Dr. Peter Gill on (03) 55295207.
